Position Summary:
A professional Registered Nurse is responsible and accountable for the delivery of clinical nursing care and utilization of the nursing process.
1.         Completes initial patient assessment, completes and initials all sections of patient history and physical and includes an evaluation of biophysical, psychosocial, environmental, self-care, cultural, educational, and discharge planning needs.
—  Initiates and updates the patient Plan of care/ Patient/Family Education tool based        on shift to shift  report sheet.
—  Identifies patient needs in conjunction with the medical treatment plan.
            —      Assesses and prioritizes patient care based on patient needs.       
—  ollects data to identify communicable diseases or incubation and need for isolation precautions.
 
2.      Assesses and monitors patients
·     Demonstrates the ability to use invasive and noninvasive equipment such as IV Pumps, hypo/hyperthermia machines, suction machines, and other related equipment.
—  Maintains patient documentation is concise, clinically pertinent and legible.
—  Conducts patient assessments and monitors patient status according to departmental protocol.
—  Pain is assessed, reassessed and documented in the chart according to departmental procedures.
 
3.         Administers all medications safely and in a timely
—  Documents medication administration and/or omissions
—  Monitors the patients therapeutic response to medications and reports necessary information to the appropriate health care professional.
   —    Reports medication errors and adverse drug reactions per hospital policy.
            —     Provides information to patient/significant other concerning medications including dosage, adverse reactions and food interactions; documents education provided.
   —    Safely administers blood and blood products per hospital policy.
 
 
4.       Complies with all policies & procedures that pertain to HIPAA including the minimum necessary requirements for this position.
 
 
 

Qualifications:

RN Florida License - 1 year Acute Care Required
