Description:
Responsible for Case Management, to include divisions and committee functions, in accordance with, Administrative and Departmental Policies and Procedures, Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) Standards and applicable federal and state guidelines. Administers all aspects of case management, including utilization review, discharge planning, denials management, patient advocacy, and quality management. Facilitates care management issues successfully to influence collaboration between physicians and hospital. Interfaces with quality management and physicians to provide relevant data enabling identification of practitioners who may not meet the standards of care for the community.
Qualifications:
Requires knowledge of Federal, State and required regulatory agency standards related to health care organizations. Cognitive and technical knowledge and ability to progressively manage case load. The ability to retrieve, communicate and present data and information both verbally and in writing required; as is the ability to express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken and written work. Must be flexible with work scheduling. Involves discretion and independent action within prescribed limits. Involves call responsibilities. Proficient with Interqual Criteria. Familiar with multiple payer systems including Medicare and Medicaid. Current Texas RN license; CCM preferred. BLS required. 1-3 years CM experience.
